Our Earth is one of the billions of planets in the universe which hosts life. Today, this planet is facing an acute problem of Global Warming. Global Warming is an increasing temperature of the Earth caused by deforestation and increasing quantity of some gases such as Carbon dioxide, Methane and Chlorofluorocarbon in the atmosphere. Suppose you leave a car in sunlight for sometime with closed windowpanes. It will become hotter and hotter with the passage of time due to direct sunlight and zero ventilation. When you get in the car now, you will feel high increase of temperature. It is because, the sunlight enters through the windowpanes and increases the temperature in it. The heat in the car can’t be transferred through the windowpanes into atmosphere. That is why the temperature increases. This is called Green House Effect (GHE).
The gases Carbon dioxide, Methane and Chlorofluorocarbon resist the transfer of Earth’s heat into space like the windowpanes. Industries, vehicles, refrigerators, air conditioners and burning of coal emit these gases. Due to industrial revolution the Earth’s temperature is increasing day by day since the last century. Rapid industrialization is playing a vital role in GHE promotion.
Due to Global Warming climate is changing day by day. The glaciers are melting rapidly and the water level in water bodies is increasing which in turn will create flood threat. If the GHE promotion will not be controlled the species will become extinct because we will not be able to face a highly increased temperature in near future. And we will be the only responsible of this. Today trees are being cut and on the other hand everyone needs shadow to park his car. We are changing our environment for our timely interest.
This homeland is not only for us. Our incoming progeny will also have to live on it. And what are we doing for our next progeny? This Earth not only hosts just human beings but it is the home planet of all other life types. Earth was created for all life, not just human life. Caral Sagan says, "Everyone of us is, in the cosmic perspective, precious. If a human disagrees with you, let him live. In a hundred billion galaxies, you will not find another”. This shows the loneliness and uniqueness of life in our vast universe. So the peace and good moral ethics are our only destination. It is the matter of ethics and it is the matter of peace that we should plan for the better environment of our next generation. It is our moral and ethical duty to fight against the drastic climate change.
