Trump Hires Economic Mastermind To Handle China

President-elect Donald Trump has tapped Peter Navarro, an economic adviser to his campaign, to lead a newly formed White House National Trade Council.

Trump said in a transition release:

“I read one of Peter’s books on America’s trade problems years ago and was impressed by the clarity of his arguments and thoroughness of his research… He has presciently documented the harms inflicted by globalism on American workers and laid out a path forward to restore our middle class. He will fulfill an essential role in my administration as a trade adviser.”

One of Trump’s biggest campaigning points during the election was: We Are Losing To China. We’re Not Going To Lose Anymore.

Selecting Peter Navarro to this position sends a very strong message to those that voted for him and to the Chinese: Trump is going to do exactly what he said he was going to do.

Navarro is a hawk when it comes to trade and dealing with the Chinese. He has authored books such as “Death by China” and “Crouching Tiger: What China’s Militarism Means for the World.” He isn’t worried about starting an economic war with China because he knows that they already started it and that the United States needs to more aggressive in how they play ball.
